There is often confusion between the hunting seasons and regulations between Saskatchewan's two species of deer. There are important differences including who is eligible to hunt each species. As a quick summary, only a Saskatchewan resident may purchase a Mule Deer license and they must put in for the annual draw. For Whitetail Deer, all Canadian residents as well as non-Canadians are eligible to hunt. Non-Canadians must use the services of a licensed hunting guide.
